Fr3d Tomaselli post # 12
Fred tomaselli would considered to be a postmodern artist because he wants people to figure out what his artworks art about.According to Tom"I want people to get lost in the work. I want to seduce people into it and I want people to escape inside the world of the work. In that way the work is pre-Modernist. I throw all of my obsessions and loves into the work, and I try not to be too embarrassed about any of it. I love nature, I love gardening, I love watching birds, and all of that gets into the work. I just try to be true to who I am and make the work I want to see. I don’t have a radical agenda." This tells me that he doesn't want a person to know what his artwork is right of the back. This maybe be why he uses cliches in his artworks, and also stereotypes.Another good example is tom uses an explosion of color and combines it with a basis in art history. His style usually involves collage, painting, and/or glazing. This fact tells the reader that it uses one of the postmodern visual strategies. As a result this all tells why this artist is a postmodern artist and why he use them in his artworks.

On the website moca.org I found a very interesting name Fred Tomaselli.Fred Tomaselli is an American artist who was born in Santa Monica, California, in 1956.Fred is known for his detailed paintings on wood panels.I chose this artist because he has a very creative name which I like.I also chose this artist because he has almost the same name as the weather man on wgn news at 9 o'clock. One example that proves this is that I like artist that do paintings because it was the first objective in art that I ever learned how to do.In conclusion,Fred tomaselli must be a very famous American artist because all of his paintings are very unique and creative. All of his artworks have a glitery touch to each of them.

Post #10 "last one in is a nigger"
This artwork is aimed toward the blacks because as you can see the title is" the last one in is a nigger and also a white did the artwork .One piece of evidence that proves this because in the reading constructive meaning it mentions racial stereotyping which tends to exaggerate negative generalizations towards someone. As one can see this artwork has a serious type of negative affect on the blacks because it looks to me that all of the blacks were hopping into a swimming pool or something like that.A second piece of evidence according to the reading is that rather than learning about an individual person, the artist was making judgments based on the preconceptions about the blacks. The viewer responded automatically to the artwork and just assumed it was aimed to be racist and about black people. artwork by:Quadell

My first quarter in art has been very interesting. I have experienced new objectives in art that I never knew about. I have learned that art is not all about colors, picture, and painting. I have learned the 7 principles of design and the 7 elements of art.I have learned different types of drawing, such as contemporary drawings, and schematic drawings.I have learned many new objectives doing the bell ringers in my sketch book. The blogs have been very cool to me.We can express our thoughts in an appropriate way.The blogs give me a chance to learn new things about my peers, and what they are interested in as far as art.One project that I really enjoyed this quarter was making an accordion book which was very fun to me,even though I had a late start.I see the subject of art differently because it is not all about paintings, sculpture, and artwork's. I learned that it is a more in depth meaning, and it means much more to the artist that complete the art.

Many post modern artwork's reflects the process of its own creation rather than some greater truth purpose, post modern artworks at the level of outer surface, not essential form. This artwork well uses appropriation because it use the Simpson's body's,but it re transforms them into a weird type of shape. This artist was maybe trying to express how the Simpson family acts in there shows or describing them.I know the artist was thinking about clocks, and the beer bottles,so maybe the artist was getting at how much time is wasted watching the Simpson show.Lisa Simpson sticks out of the painting maybe because she is the bright one in there family. The artwork uses juxtaposition because the beer bottle and the donut is sitting by homer Simpson's head and, that may be saying that he drinks to much beer and that he eats many donuts.Overall this artwork uses hybridity because it seems like the artist was really trying to make fun of the Sampson's,but not in a races type way.

This artwork uses many shapes and different sizes. I believe the artist was thinking about making a collage with This artwork using all of the contrasting colors and big and small shapes. This painting is very abrasctive because it uses much balance because the artwork looks like an amusement park with roller coasters going all around the place. This artwork is interesting because some of the shapes that it uses has different color value.lastly, the artwork shows movement because it looks like a moving amusement park like it was being carried away from a place.

Something I have learned about the process of bookmaking is that you have to use all your time to your advantage. I also have learned that most accordion books are made from the heart or experiences. You also have to have good ideas and interesting facts to do. I have found that the bookmaking was very interesting to me because the ideas I had for my book everyone really liked them. What i found challenging about the book was getting all of the shapes I wanted, and putting them in the right place to make it unique and interesting. It was also challenging trying to do the elements and principles poem. I might use my time wisely the next time I make a accordion book.

In race and gender criticism art was the undergoing intense scrutiny on the basis of critereia that are bew to art criricism. The issue is that women artists and artists of color have been marginalized by the whit,male-dominated western art establishmentand their humanity trivalized or oppressed through art.A major problem was racial and gender stereotyping, rather than the recognition of full humanity of those without political power. Another problem was the low value place on work of women and people of color in the west. Race and gender criticism effected the whole art world and the tradition.
What was the biggest problem in race and gender criticism?

The very first art experience I remember having was painting at school. I was in kindergarten and i was 4 years old at the time. I painted a picture of a dinosaur because ,I really liked dinosaurs and they were fun to me. My teacher thought my painting was the best in the class she even posted it in the main office for everybody to see. I was so proud of myself i went home and told my whole family, I was so excited, I was thinking of being an artist one day. That painting of my dinosaur was the best painting I ever made in my life and that's why it was my best experience in art.
